2001 Bicentennial Biennial Session Name Badge

All the stops are being pulled out to make the 2001 Bicentennial Biennial Session a truly memorable celebration. About 5,000 Brethren, their ladies, and special guests, including Masonic dignitaries from around the world, are expected to participate in the meeting's many colorful events. (See Preview Schedule in the July Scottish Rite Journal.) In addition, Session participants can enjoy picturesque, historic Charleston, South Carolina, location of the 200th Anniversary Session and birthplace of the Supreme Council in 1801. The special Bicentennial name badge pictured above (actual size 3 3/4" x 3") is one of the several souvenirs developed to celebrate the event. With a brilliant golden finish and rich purple stamping, the Bicentennial badge pictures Shepheard's Tavern in Charleston, site of the premier opening of the Supreme Council on May 31, 2001, and the House of the Temple, present headquarters building of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J., in Washington, D.C. The Bicentennial badge will be given free to every registered Brother, and it is sure to become a Masonic collectible and a treasured keepsake of this historic event.
