A Chapter of the Knights of Saint Andrew is a service organization developed for the 32°, Black Cap members. It was organized in 1993 by Ill. Weldon J. Good, 33°, in the Valley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, to give the Black Cap members more to do within the Consistory during Reunions and to help them to become more active in the Consistory as a whole. The aim of the Knights of Saint Andrew is to provide selfless dedication to and the promotion of our Masonic Fraternity within the Scottish Rite, our community, our jurisdiction, and state.

The Valley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, chartered a new chapter in Guthrie in 1993 and McAlester in 1994. The concept of this organization was expanded in 1997 from Guthrie to Wichita, Kansas, and in 1999 to Fort Scott, Kansas. The Knights exist as a service organization on behalf of all members of their Consistory. They are under the immediate supervision of the Secretary of their Scottish Rite Consistory and provide services where they are needed. This includes, but is not limited to, aiding the Tylers, acting as greeters, providing escort services for dignitaries or for special events created for the ladies during Reunions or other functions, serving as guides, assisting in Scottish Degree work, and helping present the colors. Knights of St. Andrew also assist in the calling committees, participate in parades or civic activities, promote fund-raising events, and aid in any special event. The list can continue on as new ideas and concepts are developed to help meet needs and goals.

Each member of the Knights of Saint Andrew wears a tartan badge with an emblem attached to it. The tartan badge is made to be easily worn on the shoulder and is the tartan and emblem of that Chapter's choice. Some of the Chapters have made an additional investment by purchasing kilts, dress sporrans, and all accessories to complement the formal attire. Other Knights use a more casual attire to identify themselves as they assist in appropriate activities and events.

Their flexibility and enthusiasm make the Knights of Saint Andrew one of a Valley's most active and desirable organizations. It is an excellent way to nurture and develop future leaders as they learn their organizational and leadership skills, explore the inner structures of their Scottish Rite Centers, and thus gain a deeper admiration for our Order and the Brethren who work in Freemasonry as a whole.
