The Scottish Rite Donor Recognition Program
honors those who have given so generously to support our Order’s
charitable programs.
Due to the generosity of donors who have given
to Scottish Rite Foundations through pledges, bequests in wills,
outright gifts of cash or property, gifts in the form of trusts
or gift annuities, and gifts to the Pooled Income Fund, our Scottish
Rite charities are a resounding success. More and more individuals
are making pledges to support our charities through multi-year
giving or through bequests in their wills. Under the pledge program,
the pledgor can benefit the House of the Temple Historic Preservation
Foundation, Inc., the Scottish Rite Foundation, Southern Jurisdiction,
USA, Inc., or a local Scottish Rite Foundation. If you would
like to make a pledge, please contact the Development Office
toll free at 1-866-448-3773 for a pledge form. Through the Scottish Rite Donor Recognition Program,
our donors’ names
are inscribed in the Gold Book of Recognition located in the
Supreme Council Library, on bronze nameplates in the Hall of
Recognition, on prominently displayed portraits in the Supreme
Temple Architects Hall of Honor or the Pillars of Charity Portrait
Gallery, and on bronze plaques in the Pillars of Charity Alcove.
We are constantly adding new names to the Gold Book and beautiful
nameplates to the Hall of Recognition.
With 33 oil portraits of prominent Scottish Rite
Masons, the Supreme Temple Architects Hall of Honor is now complete.
We also
are very pleased to have three donors in the new Pillars of Charity
Portrait Gallery at the House of the Temple: Mrs. Vee Hansen
Lohmann, Mrs. Syble Everee Gwatney, and Bro. William Jacob “Butch” Giles,
Jr., KCCH, Valley of Houston, Texas. The Pillars of Charity Portrait
Gallery honors any individual who donates $1,000,000 or more
to the House of the Temple Historic Preservation Foundation,
Inc., or the Scottish Rite Foundation, Southern Jurisdiction,
USA, Inc., with an oil portrait. The donor may also divide his
or her gift between a local Scottish Rite Foundation and one
of the national Scottish Rite Foundations. As long as $500,000
of the gift of $1,000,000 or more is designated for either the
House of the Temple Historic Preservation Foundation, Inc., or
the Scottish Rite Foundation, Southern Jurisdiction, USA, Inc.,
the donor will qualify for this recognition. The donor’s
name will be inscribed in the Pillars of Charity Alcove, and
the donor will also be invited to a private luncheon or dinner
with the Sovereign Grand Commander.
