Magnolia Lodge in Biloxi, Mississippi
Still Standing after Hard Hit by Katrina

The building of Magnolia Lodge No. 120, F.&A.M., Biloxi, Mississippi, survived Hurricane Katrina, but with massive damage. About 1,000 feet of the roof is gone, and the ceilings have collapsed on the 2nd and 3rd floors. A structural engineer believes the lodge can be rebuilt; an insurance adjuster cannot yet estimate the cost of repairs. One of three business tenants on the first level plans to reopen, one is bankrupt, and the other has given up their space. Magnolia Lodge already has held a special meeting at a neighboring lodge and plans to rebuild to the pre-storm condition.
