Donor Recognition Program
Donor recognition
is an important part of the Supreme Council's several planned giving
programs
We want to give you an update on the progress of the
Scottish Rite "Store of Happiness." Since the opening of
the "store" in January 1994, dozens of the monthly article
"Where Do You Do Your Shopping?" have appeared in the Scottish
Rite Journal. These have described how Brethren and their families
can benefit themselves while, at the same time, benefiting Scottish
Rite philanthropies, especially the children served by the Childhood
Language Disorders Program. Many shoppers have visited and told us
howmuch they like our products. In fact, our products will last forever
since their benefits go on helping the Scottish Rite forever! We also
feel we have the best shoppers in the world.
For those of you who are not familiar with our "Donor
Recognition Program," here is what we have to offer. The program
features a Gold Book of Recognition and several impressive bronze
panels, each approximately ten feet high, prominently located in
the House of the Temple. Other places to honor donors are the Hall
of Honor with its commissioned oil portrait paintings and the ultra-beautiful
Pillars of Charity Alcove (right) with its magnificent stained glass
window and donor recognition "Pillars."
There is something for everyone! Here are your choices and what
you receive as a token of appreciation. The following list is revised
as of September 1, 1999.

We are quite pleased to let you know that our store is a great
success. It has a customer list of hundreds of the best shoppers
in the world. The names and some of the faces of these happy customers
can be found throughout the store. Several of the names are in the
memory of a loved one. Some are inscribed in the Gold Book of Recognition
located in the Library of the Supreme Council, on bronze nameplates
in the Hall of Recognition, on prominently displayed portraits in
the Hall
of Honor, and on bronze plaques in the Pillars of Charity.
The oil portraits in the Hall of Honor are reserved for Scottish
Rite Masons, and will be limited to a total of 33. Please click
here for more information.

Our Donor Recognition Program acknowledges direct
gifts of cash and securities, approved real estate, contributions
to the Scottish Rite Foundation Pooled Income Fund, Charitable Remainder
Trusts, life insurance, and bequests through wills.
Take a look at our "shelves" in the Scottish Rite "Store
of Happiness" and let us know what to ring up for your room
in the house not built with hands. That leaves our ad for the month
to once again read:
Your gift will be held in the hearts of our children forever
and appropriately remembered in the House of the Temple so long
as the stones of ages shall last.
